Being in the industry for the last 15 years, I would like to share the present standard industry rates in MT.
The rates that are specified below pertains to MTs who are excellent in their jobs and are committed to achieve the target set by their employee.. not the freshers or laggards who enter the MT industry to get extra pocket money.
Also of note, since most of the MTs are now jumping into medical coding profession which is far less stressful than MT, the MT industry is facing a skilled manpower crisis where quality hands are very rare and if a person is able to deliver quality and also do more number of lines than a MT can normally achieve, he is sure to get rates that are in the highest bracket in this industry.
Rates for Editing only is 90 p to Re 1 for day shift, Re 1 to Re. 1.25 per line for night shift (depending on the target lines achieved)
Rate for Transcription is Re 1.80 to Re 2 for day shift and Re 2 to Re 2.50 per line for night shift (depending on the target lines achieved)
Now again, I would like to reiterate that this is for those who are excellent in their work and committed to achieve target.
